Active Therapy Clinic is a multidisciplinary health clinic located on the outskirts of Cirencester, that has been providing treatment for musculoskeletal injury since it was first established in March 2007. The clinic is now home to a wide collection of therapies including Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, IDD Therapy, PHITs Bespoke Orthotics, Pelvic Health Seat, Lymphatic Drainage, Shockwave Therapy, K-Laser, Tecar Therapy, Joint Injections, offering our patients an integrated approach to their healthcare.

 

Our dynamic team caters for the rehabilitation of acute and chronic pain conditions of the whole body. We aim to support patients through all stages of their treatment as well as providing preventative care and advice.

Stephen Haynes

Stephen took over as Clinic Director of Active Therapy Clinic in 2013. He graduated as an Osteopath with a first class honours degree from Oxford Brookes University, having previously worked as a geneticist and a pharmaceutical sales manager. In addition to osteopathic techniques, Stephen incorporates many other techniques he has learnt on his numerous studies, such as Muscle Activation, Primal Reflex Release Technique, Voila, & Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex. Other modalities incorporated with treatments are Shockwave Therapy  & K-Laser Therapy.

Stephen is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO). The iO is the largest membership body of osteopaths in the UK and works to support, unite, develop and promote the osteopathic profession for the benefit of patient health.

David Ede Physiotherapist Active Therapy Clinic Cirencester Cotswolds Gloucestershire

Chartered Physiotherapist (MSc BSc (Hons)

David Ede

David Ede is a highly qualified and extremely experienced chartered physiotherapist. He Graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2005, and went on to complete his Masters in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Queen Marys London and Barts University London in 2011. He has published research on tendon injury and has worked with some of the world experts in this area. David has also developed an Injury screening matrix that he offers to individuals and clubs as a preseason assessment tool. He has a wealth of expertise in all types of musculoskeletal problems and is particularly focussed on the care, prevention and rehabilitation of sporting injuries. David Currently oversees the medical department at Fairford football club ensuring all the team are fit and the occasional pitch side cover.

 

In addition to his specialisation in sporting injuries, David treats all the usual range of general physiotherapy conditions, and specialises in spinal injuries and rehabilitation and believes you are entitled to the same level of expertise and rehabilitation whether you are an elite athlete, weekend warrior or non sporting and offers convenient daytime and evening appointments to suit the patient.

 

His preferred treatment methods include soft-tissue mobilisation, joint mobilisation and manipulation. A strong emphasis is placed on re-education of joint proprioception and stabilising muscles to help prevent reoccurrence of injury.

 

In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his young family and the dabbles in a variety of sports including running, cross fit, wake boarding and fly fishing.

Dot Rowbotham

After several years in various roles within healthcare, Dot trained as a phlebotomist in 2017. She then spent four years working in Community healthcare in the NHS. 

 

Before joining the team at Active Therapy Clinic, Dot spent a year working in a GP surgery, providing such services as B12 boosters, immunisations, ECGs, blood pressure and health checks. Dot has continued her training with course in Vitamin C & D boosters.

Natasha Pauck Physiotherapist Active Therapy Clinic Cirencester Cotswolds Gloucestershire

Natasha Pauck (currently on Maternity Leave)

Natasha graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2013 after which she working in both hospital settings, gaining experience in cardiorespiratory rehab, neurological rehab aswell musculoskeletal rehab. Natasha has particular interest in musculoskeletal conditions both spinal and limb related and has done further studies in sporting related injuries and worked with both children and adults in sporting and non-sporting related musculosketetal complaints. In the UK, Natasha has also had experience working in Occupational Health thus dealing with repetitive strain injuries and other typically work related complaints. Natasha typically uses a holistic approach by alleviating the immediate symptoms, addressing the route causes but also ensuring there is a plan for prevention of future injuries. She has experience using mobilisation techniques, myofascial release, dry needling/medical acupuncture, sports taping and electrotherapy modalities as well exercise prescription. 

 

When Natasha isn't working, she enjoys trail running, rock climbing, yoga and pilates, painting and playing guitar and piano. Since moving to the UK, she has managed to run her first marathon and 100 miler and has plans to continue exploring the beautiful British country side!

Jack Hambling Osteopath Active Therapy Clinic Cirencester Cotswolds Gloucestershire

Jack Hambling

Jack holds a First-Class Master's degree in Osteopathy from Swansea University and is registered with the General Osteopathic Practice. Following the completion of his academic journey, Jack returned to his hometown of Stroud, where he quickly established himself as a highly esteemed member of the Active Therapy Clinic.

 

In his role as an Osteopath, Jack employs a diverse array of assessment and treatment techniques, enabling him to proficiently identify, diagnose, and treat a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders. His technique addresses the root causes of these issues, ensuring comprehensive relief for his patients.

 

Jack has experience in providing pitch-side coverage for both rugby and football teams. Utilising manual therapy and collaborating closely with players to design tailored rehabilitation programmes aimed at restoring them to their peak physical condition.

 

Interests

 

Whilst at university, Jack wrote his dissertation on tennis elbow due to his interest in the topic. His interests also extend to treating:

  • Lower Back Pain

  • Muscular Strain

  • SIJ pain

  • Ankle and Knee Pain

Owen Waters Physiotherapist Active Therapy Clinic Cirencester Cotswolds Gloucestershire

Owen Waters

Owen Waters is a qualified Chartered Physiotherapist graduating with a Master’s

Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Gloucestershire in 2024. Prior to this

Owen completed a Sport and Exercises Science Bachelor’s Degree in 2022,

qualifying with Hons and a 2:1 classification. Originally from Devon, Owen has

decided to stay in Gloucestershire and join the Active Therapy Team.

With a passion for musculoskeletal rehabilitation Owen utilises a variety of

assessment techniques to better understand the issue in question. Alongside this he

enjoys using a range of treatment modalities including exercise prescription, patient

education, soft tissue techniques and joint mobilisations.

When not working Owen competes at a national level in badminton travelling the

country to play on the National Circuit. As well as this, he enjoys staying generally

active partaking in a range of other activities including golf and attending the gym.

Freya Sullivan

Freya Sullivan

Freya is dedicated and compassionate with hands on experience of treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Skilled in structural and functional techniques, patients education, and tailored rehabilitation planning. She is a strong communicator with a collaborative approach, focussed on delivering safe, evidence-based care. In her spare time she is a keen footballer. She gained a first in her dissertation on "Risk factors affecting ACL injuries in female footballers and how manual therapy can help prevention".

Laurie McNally Physiotherapist Active Th

Laurie McNally

Laurie McNally is a Chartered Physiotherapist graduating from the University of Winchester in 2025. He has gained clinical experience across a variety of clinical settings, including musculoskeletal outpatients, stroke rehabilitation, trauma and orthopeadics, and community rehabilitation services. 

Laurie has a passion for sports and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, completing a sports physiotherapy internship in Saint Lucia, working with high-performance cricket athletes, supporting injury rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes.

 

Passionate about delivering patient centered care, Laurie enjoys helping people regain confidence, reduce pain and return to activities that matter the most to them through evidence-based rehabilitation and hands-on treatment. 

 

In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, running and is a keen footballer. He previously played in the West Bromwich Albion and Forest Green Rovers academy programs. 

Will Morris Physiotherapist Active Thera

Will Morris

Will Morris is a Chartered Physiotherapist graduating from Bournemouth University in 2026 with a First Class Honours in Physiotherapy. Throughout his degree, he developed a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly the role of rehabilitation and helping patients achieve their goals. 

 

Having spent much of his life involved in sport, Will understands the frustration that injuries can cause and the impact they can have on day-to-day life. Will believes that successful rehabilitation should be practical, individualised and focused on building confidence as well as physical capacity. He uses a combination of exercise-based rehabilitation, education and hands-on techniques, with the aim of giving patients the tools and understanding to manage their condition in the long term.

 

Away from the clinic, Will has competed nationally in sailing and brings this sporting background into his approach to physiotherapy. He also enjoys keeping active, particularly through going to the gym and trying to stay consistent with running.
