What is sports massage?

Sports massage is a specific and deep form of soft tissue therapy. Despite its name, sports massage can be beneficial to all, both in sporting and non-sporting related injuries or ache and pains. Sports massage involves a wide range of techniques that include effleurage, kneading, wringing, hacking and trigger point therapy. A sports massage is used to restore balance to the muscular and fascial system. Sports massage can help relieve muscular tension, break down adhesion's, (knots) mobilise soft tissues and reduce pain. Sports massage works fantastic in partnership with Physiotherapy & Osteopathy.
